Paula Waddle, Brownsville court librarian, passed away on January 4,
2008 after a brief illness. Our condolences go out to her family
and friends.
The Brownsville library is the only federal law library south of
San Antonio and serves not only both Brownsville and McAllen, but also the
legal community of the Rio Grande Valley as well the general public. In an area
of scant resources, the library is a unique and vital institution. The library
offers assistance in legal research, both text and on-line. With links to the
federal law library system and educational resources, comprehensive research is
available to its patrons.
Due to the recent death of Paula Waddle, the
Brownsville, McAllen, and Corpus Christi court librarian, the
Brownsville library will be closed to the local bar until
further notice. We regret this inconvenience to the court
and attorneys and hope to hire a librarian for the Valley soon.
